Zero Tolerance Enforcement - Safety and Security Protocols
REMINDER TO ALL PORT USERS:
The Port Authority facility is a strictly restricted area. To ensure the safety and security of all personnel and operations, access and ongoing operations require strict adherence to security and safety protocols.
We are implementing zero tolerance enforcement of comprehensive port access, vehicle inspection, and safety standards. Please review the mandatory requirements for entering, operating within, and exiting the facility below.
Key Access Protocols for Personnel
· First Point of Contact: Always report to the Security Department upon entering or exiting the facility. (Vehicles must maintain a safe distance from all security gates upon approach. Security will instruct vehicles when to enter or exit.)
· Port Pass & Identification:
o Have valid ID and required credentials ready for inspection.
o Once issued, your permanent Port Pass must be carried and visibly displayed (worn below the neck and above the waist) at all times while in the restricted area.
o No pass, no entry: Access will be denied if you fail to present your pass or proper identification.
· Mandatory Security Searches: Random searches are conducted as part of our safety protocols. Compliance is mandatory; refusal will result in immediate denial of entry.
· Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): PPE and proper attire are required to enter and remain in the restricted area.
Mandatory gear includes:
· Hard Hat
· High-Visibility Reflective Vest or Reflective Shirts
· Closed-Toe Safety Shoes
NOTE: Anyone found in the restricted area without required PPE or proper attire, will be asked to leave and immediately escorted off the premises.
Enhanced Vehicle Inspection & Driver Requirements
All vehicles and drivers seeking entry must meet rigorous compliance criteria.
Driver Requirements
Drivers must present:
· A valid driver's license (proper vehicle class must be indicated on license)
· PPE and Proper Attire (listed above)
· Valid Vehicle Registration and Insurance documents (must be available if requested)
Comprehensive Vehicle Inspections
All vehicles entering and exiting the port are subject to undergo a thorough check covering:
· Mechanical & Operational Components: Visual signs of mechanical issues, tire condition, lights and signals (headlights, taillights, turn signals, brake lights), and horn functionality.
· Chassis & Body: Chassis functionality and condition, plus body condition (checking for damage or corrosion).
· Safety & Securement: Availability and condition of securement tools, alongside load security (adequate securement, stability, and no overloading).
Strict Enforcement & Consequences
Failure to meet any access, safety, or inspection requirement will result in immediate consequences:
· Denial of Entry: Trucks that fail inspections, drivers lacking proper identification or attire, or vehicles unequipped with necessary securement tools will be denied entry.
· Departure Restrictions: Trucks attempting to leave the port with improperly secured, unstable, or overloaded material must return to their offloading berth to rectify the issue before departing.
· Unauthorized Personnel: Anyone in restricted zones without proper credentials or PPE will be immediately escorted off the premises.
If there are any question or concerns on these matters, speak to the Security or Safety personnel who are responsible for enforcement of these protocols.
Thank you for your cooperation and unwavering commitment to assisting in maintaining a safe and secure environment at our port.
